After graduating from the U of R, Normajean Hinders ’65 earned a master's degree in the teaching of English from Stanford University. She taught high school English and counseled in the Bay Area and in Honolulu, Hawaii. Currently, Hinders is a marriage and family therapist in Palo Alto, where she has been in private practice since 1984, after obtaining a master's degree in counseling psychology from Santa Clara University. She serves as a member of the University’s Board of Trustees and as president of the U of R Alumni Association Board of Directors.
